Course Description:


This course focuses on a breadth of topics and practical skills that every graduate student must be well familiar with. It includes coverage of computer science discipline, introducing computing environments, general application software, basic computing hardware, operating systems, desktop publishing, Internet, software applications and tools and computer usage concepts. It practically prepares the students to actively use technology in all areas of their academic learning during their graduation, and throughout their life as an essential life skill in today’s increasingly digital world.

Course Policies

  • Everyone must complete all MS Office, Sketup & Adobe Online Training Course.
  • Everyone must complete all Coursera & edX online courses. 
  • Hard copies of all written assignments must be turned in on or before the due date at no later than 1530 hrs. The assignments will be collected by the CR who will then hand them over to me. Direct submissions will not be accepted. 
  • Late submission of assignment will be penalized by lowering of the grade/mark by 5% daily. 
  • Remember to proofread your assignments for language, grammar and style errors. 


Grading Model:


Mid-Term – 25 Marks
Final Term – 50 Marks
Sessional – 25 Marks (Any combination of the following)
    Assignments x 2 (both are compulsory)
    Quiz x 2
    Presentation / Project x 1
    Practical Demonstration
